Bill Bryson will visit Durham University in a week-long visit

The best-selling travel writer Bill Bryson begins a week-long tour of Durham on Sunday in his role as the chancellor of the city's university.
The US-born author begins his visit at Durham Railway Station where he will be greeted by a reception committee of students, academics and musicians.
He became Durham University's 11th chancellor in April, in succession to the late actor Sir Peter Ustinov.
This will be his first visit to the university during a working term.
'Hugely popular'
His first stop-off will be Palace Green, between Durham's cathedral and castle, where he will address a gathering of students.
Over the next few days, Mr Bryson will meet staff and students in a series of visits to academic departments.
Vice-Chancellor Sir Kenneth Calman said: "Our new chancellor conferred degrees on our departing graduates in the summer, but this is his first chance to meet our students in the working term and get a proper insight into university life.
