Detailed plans have been revealed for what will be one of the biggest mosques in the UK, based in Dudley.
The centre is costing around �18m and should be ready in three years.
The facility has been in the pipeline since Muslim leaders declared the current facility at Castle Hill too small for the congregation.
The new, bigger mosque on the corner of Hall Street and North Street will have a capacity of 750. A 60ft minaret will form the centrepiece.
A community centre is to be built next door for locals to use.
The plans have caused concern for some local residents who say the sheer size of the mosque will upset the infrastructure of the town centre and cause major traffic problems.
