Chocolate lovers and Cadbury supporters have organised an event in Birmingham to show their support for the company. US food firm Kraft has launched a hostile bid to takeover the confectioner, which Cadbury and its shareholders has so far rejected. Poet and storytellers Adrian Johnson and Katrice Horsley have organised the event in Victoria Square on Saturday. Releasing its latest business figures, Cadbury said it had enjoyed an "outstanding" performance in 2009. Kraft has until 19 January to announce a final, higher offer for Cadbury. If that is rejected, it will then have to wait another year. At the weekend event, between 1400 GMT and 1500 GMT, visitors can share a story and some chocolate with people in the square. Cadbury produces brands such as Dairy Milk and Wispa and has a long association with Birmingham. It also has plants in Herefordshire and Somerset.
