Bells ring on wedding tradition
The wedding party
The groom needed special permission to marry in the church
A groom has become the 11th generation of his family to marry in the same country church.

Matthew Jones, 28, wed Rebekah Day at St Mary Magdalene church in the village of South Marston, Wiltshire, on Saturday.

The ceremony continued an unbroken run of ancestral weddings in the Norman church which can be traced back to 1690.

Matthew said: "When you have roots in one place for so long it means a lot."

Because Mr Jones has moved from the village, where he went to school, to Rugby, Warwickshire, he had to be granted special permission to tie the knot with Miss Day, from Devon.
