Workers on the Glasgow Underground have rejected the latest pay offer in a protracted industrial dispute.
Members of the Transport and General Workers Union (T&G) voted by 96 to 81 against the deal put forward by Strathclyde Passenger Transport (SPT).
The union said it was still prepared to seek a negotiated settlement and that further strike action was on hold.
"We will meet with our members at the earliest opportunity to discuss a way forward," said the union.
The long-running row over pay and conditions has led to a series of strikes, ranging from one to four days.
Employees examined the offer from SPT bosses at a mass meeting on Sunday.
SPT's director of operations Douglas Ferguson said: "This dispute has caused a great deal of disruption for passengers.
"It has cost SPT a great deal in lost revenue and it has cost staff a great deal in lost wages."
