French market to honour Bastille
French market in The Grassmarket
The French market will be selling cheeses, charcuterie and patisserie
A French market to honour Bastille Day is to be set up in The Grassmarket in Edinburgh over the weekend.

The three-day market marks France's most important holiday commemorating the storming of the prison which started the French Revolution in 1789.

Traditional French and continental products such as cheeses, charcuterie and patisserie will be on offer as well as French African art and earthenware.

The market starts on Bastille Day on Friday and ends on Sunday.

Brunomart, the market's organisers, have been working with Edinburgh City Centre Management over recent months to bring the event to the capital.

The market will open on 14 and 15 July from 1000 BST to 1830 BST and on Sunday 16 July from 1100 BST to 1700 BST.
