Inverness Castle will be the focus of the celebrations
Poles living in the Highlands are to celebrate their homeland's national day with an event at Inverness Castle.

The 250th anniversary of Poland's constitution is Thursday, but the north's Polish community will celebrate it on Sunday to avoid polling day.

Zosia Wierbowicz-Fraser, chairwoman of the Inverness Polish Association, said she hoped city residents would join them for the festivities.

She said: "Our association is all about total integration."

There are about 8,000 Poles in the Highlands.

Lithuanians, Latvians and Filipinos make up the other large migrant communities in the Highlands.
