Dumped cooking fats block sewer
Illegally dumped food fats, oils and greases have caused blockages along a 100-metre stretch of sewer in Nairn.

Scottish Water said the problem affecting Seabank Road had resulted in sewage backing up into a house.

Households and businesses have been asked to bag and bin, or recycle, cooking fats.

Alan Kellock, trade effluent adviser for the Highlands, said anyone caught dumping it down the drain could end up paying for the clean-up effort.
