The online disabled guide offers tips on restaurants and cinemas

DisabledGo Aberdeen details shops, pubs, restaurants, cinemas and venues for people with hearing, vision or mobility-related access concerns.

Researchers visited businesses to assess their accessability and offer advice on providing a better service.

The www.DisabledGo.info venture received sponsorship from Aberdeen City Council and Marks & Spencer.

People can check whether a pub is accessible to a wheelchair user, a cinema can offer a hearing loop, a hotel offers adapted rooms, or if a restaurant welcomes assistance dogs or offers menus in large print or Braille.

Council leader Kate Dean said: "This project will be an invaluable resource for thousands of our citizens who have disabilities, for whom concerns about access and service can be a real barrier to daily life.

"We also hope it will be useful for visitors to our city - and even businesses and service providers themselves."
