Prince Charles met many of the affected residents

Prince Charles has visited the victims of the recent flooding which caused devastation in parts of Moray.

The Duke of Rothesay went to Elgin and Fochabers at the weekend - where more than 100 people were forced out of their homes.

Prince Charles talked with some of the families who are still homeless as a result.

He is expected to make a donation through one of his charities to help those hit by the flooding.

One victim, Fiona Nicol, said: "It's really hard but everyone here is in the same boat and they support each other.

"It's good that the prince has the respect to come and see us."

'Great man'

And Alasdair Anderson said: "I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to my house - there's just too much damage.

"The prince is a great man and it's great that he came here to see us."

The Rivers Lossie and Spey burst their banks more than a week ago after torrential rain.

Moray Council has set up a flood relief fund.
