Disability fund shortfall tackled
Urgent action has started to address a funding shortfall of nearly 500,000 for aids and adaptations for disabled residents in Dumfries and Galloway.

A report to councillors showed 11 cases requiring grants of more than 10,000 had been waiting for nearly four years.

Cllr Willie Scobie - a member of the council's adult services committee - said the timescale was unacceptable.

He said the process should take no more than six months and action has now started to tackle the situation.
