A Borders medicines firm founded last year has secured more than 1m of support from a business consortium.
Syntropharma specialises in developing new ways of delivering drugs that help to reduce side effects on patients.
The company won Scottish Enterprise Borders' business idea competition in February and initially moved to the Ettrick Riverside in Selkirk.
It is now relocating to the Tweed Horizons Business Centre in Newtown St Boswells in order to expand.
Syntropharma CEO Andrew Gardiner said the company did not follow the traditional model of pharmaceutical businesses.
Recruitment plans
"We recognise that there are lots of drugs currently available that could be improved by reformulation," he said.
"This often significantly enhances their usefulness for both doctors and patients.
"Our model means we can get products to market within three or four years as opposed to the more traditional model which takes around 12 years."
