Communities share wind farm cash
Robin Rigg view
Communities around the wind farm will share 500,000
A 500,000 payment plan has been unveiled for six communities along the Solway coastline.

Energy firm E.ON has pledged the sum over the next 10 years to areas near the Robin Rigg offshore wind farm.

Buittle, Colvend and Southwick, Kirkbean, Southerness, Auchencairn and Dundrennan community councils will share the fund.

Locals will now be consulted to determine how the money should be spent in their area.

The investment scheme follows negotiations between the developers, the local council and Solway Heritage which will administer the fund.
