The 18-year-old from Blaenau Ffestiniog became well known in the house for speaking Welsh and his love of Wales.

Despite feeling under the weather, Glyn said he was determined to carry on his work to promote his native tongue.

He said: "It's something that's close to my heart... so even though my back hurts and everything I'm still going."

During his time in the Big Brother house, former head boy Glyn had many Welsh conversations with housemate Imogen Thomas, from Llanelli.

Glyn, who was runner-up in Big Brother 7, said since leaving the house he felt as if he had been "on stage 24 hours".

"All I do is wake up in a different hotel every morning, and then just go on stage.

"I get paid for being Glyn, really.

"I'm enjoying it so much, I'm just taking every day as it comes," he said.

Glyn is touring towns in west and north Wales for the Welsh Language Board "Give it a Go" campaign.

"My campaign today is to start every conversation in Welsh, so then the Welsh language can carry on," he said.

Rhodri Llwyd Morgan of the Welsh Language Board said: "It's all about raising the profile of the Welsh language, but also specifically the message is to raise the confidence of Welsh speakers and Welsh learners.

"More and more people can speak Welsh but fewer people consider themselves fluent, and so we need to give them that confidence," he added.
