The Airbus factory in Flintshire is to undergo an expansion to meet a growing demand for orders.
Flintshire Council has approved an extension to the main factory building in Broughton, to accommodate wing assembly for the new A350 airliner.
The site - Wales' biggest manufacturing facility - makes wings for Airbus A350s due to enter service in 2010.
In January 650 jobs were announced to help meet increased orders. The plant employs about 7,000 people.
Record backlog
At the same time, the Welsh Assembly government awarded the company a grant of 5.2m to help boost production.

Airbus had said it had a record backlog of orders for more than 2,000 aircraft.
Other planned developments approved by Flintshire Council for the Broughton site include a new building for handling wings and a new area where wings can be loaded onto a transporter plane for shipment to the Airbus assembly plant at Toulouse, southern France.
As well as making wings for the A350, Broughton has already begun making wings for the A380 super-jumbo, which can seat more than 800 passengers on two decks.
The A380 had its maiden flight in April 2005.
