City rugby ground building blaze
St Helen's
St Helen's is still host to semi-professional and junior rugby
Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a large portable building on the site of the St Helen's rugby ground in Swansea.

The portable building, measuring 10m by 10m, was said to be well alight.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service was called to the blaze shortly after 0500 BST on Thursday.

The building is near the scoreboard at the ground, which was the home of the Ospreys rugby side until this season. It is not known how the fire started.

The Ospreys left the seafront ground six months ago to move to the newly-named Liberty Stadium a mile away.

The ground continues to host semi-professional and junior rugby, as well as cricket.
