Many events have been planned throughout Cornwall during March to celebrate St Piran's Day.

Across the world, several Cornish organisations are also busy organising special celebrations. In Kansas City, Missouri, USA, the members of the Greater Kansas City Cornish Society are planning a pasty lunch and concert. BBC Cornwall's Tiffany Truscott spoke to the President of the Society Frank Siegle on her Sunday afternoon programme 'Cornwall Connected'. Members will be able to enjoy Cornish songs played and sung by the group's President Frank Siegle, a reading about St Piran himself, by Eleanor Symons and a presentation video of Cornwall. And of course a Cornish Pasty for lunch. The group exists to pass on knowledge and awareness of Cornish history in Kansas City. They are hoping members will bring two guests with them to the celebrations, to further spread the word about Cornwall, through the state of Missouri. |
