Keep a check on your progress
Keep a check on your progress. If ever you feel you're not learning fast enough, you may be underestimating how much progress you're actually making. Go back every so often to something you did early on to prove to yourself how much you've learnt.

"Can I say my name in Greek? Can I ask others for theirs? Can I count to 10? Can I write my name in Greek?" etc
"Can I..." questions to yourself at checkpoints in your learning may be motivating. Think back on what you've learnt, or think you've learnt, so far. Write the questions with space between them. You've now created a test for yourself which also acts as a learning record, or 'portfolio'. When you give yourself the test, tick them off if you can. Simple!
When I was using a CD course to learn German I found it very helpful to keep a log of what I'd done that session. I thought that it helped me to focus and was a source of encouragement when I got lazy!
I am really happy that we have access to learn different languages on this web site. Thank you very much!
Thanks, just when I was on the verge of giving up - took this advice and gave me the confidence to move on in my Dutch studies. Thanks.
Keep both a diary and your own Dictionary/list of your own words. Not necessarily in alphabetical order, but in the order you have learnt them. For Spanish, use the vowels as a guide for words that begin with combinations like: ma, me, mi, mo, mu. Then, go to the second syllable, the third and so on...
