Ways to listen to The Weekender

Listening to the show

So how do you go about listening to The Weekender? Here's our guide to the best listening experience possible!

There are several ways you can listen to The Weekender, the county's local and new music show.

Radio

The show is broadcast live on BBC Radio Northampton every Friday night from 6pm for an hour. To listen, tune your radio to 104.2 or 103.6 FM within the county border.

Online: live

BBC Radio Northampton is now broadcast via the internet, although the Weekender has always been broadcast live via the web since we've been on-air!

If you want to listen live, head back to this website - bbc.co.uk/weekender - and click the 'Listen Now' promo box on the right-hand side of the page.

The BBC Radio Player will 'pop up' and the stream will start playing the show live.

Online: on-demand

We fully understand that you might be busy during the Weekender's hour on air. So each week we make the show available on-demand for the following 7 days after broadcast.

So whenever you want to, you can log on again to this website - bbc.co.uk/weekender - and click the 'Listen Now' promo box on the right-hand side.

Again the Radio Player will 'pop up' and the show will play. As it's on-demand, you can start and stop it as you wish and listen to the show as and when you like.

The show is replaced each with the latest edition, so you can listen to last week's show right up until the start of the new show, when the program will be updated.

Podcast

The Weekender's also available to download in an MP3 format to your computer. However, for copyright reasons, this is only the final half hour.
