This is a brilliant student production, a night full of passion, drama, laughter and tears.
What can I say such quality of acting and simple effective set design not to mention the stunning fireworks. It isn't found very often but it's such a joy to watch.

The difference may be that the students come from The Oxford School Of Drama rather than the OU. This second year/first year co-production presents an American classic of small town love set in the period of the turn of the century up to 1916.

This is a simple tale of god-fearing folk in Glorious Hill, during those torrid summers of innocent love. It's about a minister's daughter in love with the doctor's son next door. What could possibly go wrong? Well if you know the author you'll probably have a pretty good idea.

Catherine Potter as "Alma" is enchantingly vulnerable. Oh how we feel for her with every twist to her tale. Still it's difficult not to join in when you hear the infectious laughter from "Alma" and Antonia Windsor as her irresponsible mother "Mrs Winemiller".

The no-good object of affection for our heroine as well as most of the females in this small town is "Dr John Buchanan". Jack Hughes is convincingly tortured as this hero or villain of the piece, depending on your point of view. James Cross and Louise Wileman also stand out with their distinctive characterisations.

Oh how I love a good romance and nobody writes them better than Tennesse Williams, well maybe virginstudent. Seriously, Marvin and anyone else disappointed by this cruel world, you should come and see the show. Just see what happens when you get what you wish for.
