Live from the Upton Sunshine Festival

Discover the story behind one of Worcestershire’s biggest music weekends, alongside brilliant new music and plenty of festival atmosphere. With Andrew Marston.

Warning: This show may contain future chart-toppers! Andrew Marston introduces the best new music from our area, including:

• We're live from Sunshine Festival in Upton-upon-Severn, right in the heart of the action as thousands enjoy the music, sunshine and atmosphere at Fish Meadow. Some of the big names on the lineup include 10cc, JLS, The Proclaimers, The Wonderstuff, Reef, T'Pau, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Bez, Ian Van Dahl, Ultrabeat, Blockheads, Tony Hadley and The Wurzels.

• From its first gathering in 2006 to becoming one of the UK’s leading folk events, Shrewsbury Folk Festival has quite a story to tell. We’ve been behind the scenes as preparations get underway.

• From Biddulph to one of the biggest dance music events in the world... Jordan Tilstone has gone from sell-out raves at Gladstone Pottery to opening Creamfields. As it celebrates 20 years, he'll be on stage alongside Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix and Bewdley's Becky Hill.

• In our Music News: Bromsgrove's Ellis performs with Zedd in New York, Cheshire's SXCHA plays to 15,000 people in Madrid, Stoke-on-Trent's Darla Jade releases a track with Steve Aoki, a new music mural gets the go-ahead in Hanley, Toyah receives an honorary doctorate and a Worcester conductor reaches number seven in the Official Classical Chart.

• Get ready to turn the volume up! Beermageddon takes over Bromsgrove this Bank Holiday weekend, bringing four days of grassroots heavy metal, big riffs and some seriously loud live music.

• Original music, emerging artists and a real grassroots spirit... we're finding out what makes Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival so special.

• In our Festival Guide: Details of Shrewsbury Folk, Bridgnorth Music & Arts, Whitchurch's Party In The Park, Cheshire's Creamfields, Bromsgrove's Beermageddon, Hereford Indie Food and Upton Sunshine Festival.

• Dolly Parton touched millions of lives through her music, but her influence reaches right here too. We’re hearing from the people across our patch who were inspired by the Queen of Country.
