See Hear explores mixed deaf and hearing families, celebrating the importance of sign language, family bonds and sharing experiences across both deaf and hearing worlds.
See Hear presenter Lisa Kelly is joined in the studio by Adrian Bailey, former president of CODA International and an interpreter, to explore the experiences of mixed deaf and hearing families, looking at identity, communication, belonging and the importance of sign language.
Adrian talks about growing up with deaf parents, reflecting on his childhood experiences, including interpreting for his parents, and how these shaped his understanding of deaf culture and his own identity as a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults).
