Poet Grahame Davies reflects on Aberfan, Steven Brindle brings the 1930s to life, and Roy's Choice goes conkers. Plus plenty of great music.

Coming up today, writer and poet Grahame Davies joins us to talk about Aberfan: From Darkness to Light, a powerful new requiem marking sixty years since the Aberfan disaster. We'll hear about the challenge of finding words for one of the most moving stories in Welsh history.

We'll also step back to the 1930s with historian Steven Brindle. His remarkable new book uses hundreds of archive photographs to bring Wales and Britain before the Second World War vividly back to life.

And Roy's Choice this week comes from Robin Morgan's programme. With autumn all around us, we'll meet a man who's absolutely bonkers about conkers. St John Burkett from the World Conker Championships proves that one of our simplest childhood pastimes is still going strong.
