West Bromwich Albion full-back Nolan Galves has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
The 23-year-old summer signing from French club Rodez AF started Albion's first five league matches of the campaign before being rested for the game against Derby at Pride Park on 9 September.
He had to come on as a 37th-minute substitute after Brayann Pereira was sent off on his debut but the Frenchman then had to be replaced just 15 minutes later after going down following a challenge with Mo Fuseini.
Albion's director of medical, Tony Strudwick, told the club website:, external "Nolan sustained a significant knee injury in the game against Derby early in September.
"Following consultation with a knee specialist he underwent surgery earlier this week, including an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.
"We expect him to miss the remainder of the season. He will complete his rehabilitation with the football club and we will support him every step of the way."
Strudwick also revealed Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Callum Styles were ruled out of international duty due to minor injuries sustained before the break but added: "We're hopeful they will be back in contention for the next match."
Fifth-placed Albion return to Championship action against Birmingham on 10 October (12:30 BST).
