Great Britain's Beth Potter claimed silver at the World Championship Triathlon Series behind Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand of France.
The final event of the series took place in Pontevedra, Spain, where Potter needed a win to overhaul Beaugrand in the overall standings.
But she finished fourth, with team-mates Georgia Taylor-Brown and Kate Waugh finishing second and third behind Beaugrand.
Beaugrand won comfortably, completing the 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run in one hour 50 minutes 52 seconds, which was over a minute quicker than Taylor-Brown.
Potter, who won the World Series at Pontevedra in 2023, remained in contention at the end of the cycle, but Beaugrand stretched clear of the three Brits in the second lap of the run and held firm.
It concludes a dominant season for Beaugrand, who has won all five of the World Championship circuit races she entered.
Taylor-Brown won the Czech Republic leg of the series earlier this month, which was her first win on the tour since 2023.
Yee's sprint finish secures bronze
In the men's event on Sunday, GB's Alex Yee produced a brilliant finish in the 10km run to secure a bronze, although he finished outside the podium places in the overall standings.
The Olympic champion started the run about 50 seconds behind after the swim and the bike, but in his strongest discipline he closed the gap and joined the top three with around 2.5km to go.
It came down to a thrilling sprint finish where Australian Matt Hauser took the win in a photo finish with Portugal's Vasco Vilaca in second.
They both finished the course in one hour 39 minutes 31 seconds, with Yee just four seconds behind, completing the 10km in 28 minutes 46 seconds.
The second place was enough for Vilaca to be crowned the overall champion.
