More female referees are still badly needed in the game
A female will referee an Oxfordshire County Cup Final for the first time.
Nieshia Boal, 19, who came through the Oxford United Referee Academy system, will referee the Under-14 boy's final at Ardley United on Sunday at 1100 BST.
Referee development officer Nigel Saverton told BBC Oxford: "She's one of our most promising referees and has been refereeing for only three years."
As a direct result, the Oxfordshire FA have decided to run a female only referees course in July.
