National League side Tamworth have signed Stoke City midfielder Gabriel Kelly on loan until 1 November.

The 19-year-old is yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for Stoke but has captained the Potters' under-21 side this season.

Kelly's move was confirmed shortly before Tamworth's National League fixture at home to Sutton United on Wednesday.

National League club Tamworth have signed Salford City defender Hayden Carson on a month's loan.

Carson, 20, came through Wolves' academy and featured in Salford's first two competitive matches of this season.

He has spent time on loan in non-league football with Chester last season.

Tamworth, who are third from bottom of the National League, host Sutton in their next game on Wednesday.

Tamworth have re-signed midfielder Ryan Howley on a three-month loan deal from League Two side Bristol Rovers.

Howley played seven times in the National League during a previous spell on loan with Tamworth last season.

Tamworth have signed goalkeeper Rhys Lovett on a one-year contract.

The 29-year-old spent time with Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North last season and has played in the fifth tier with Maidenhead.

Lovett will be available when Tamworth begin their league campaign against last season's beaten play-off finalists Boreham Wood on Saturday.

"It is probably the toughest start we could have had to this season's campaign," said manager Andy Peaks.

"They were so strong last season and literally minutes away from securing promotion to League Two."

Haydn Hollis has been named as Tamworth's head of academy coaching.

The 33-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the club as a player, helping Tamworth consolidate their position in the National League following promotion at the end of 2023-24.

In his first campaign, Hollis was part of the side that reached the third round of the FA Cup in January 2025, taking Premier League Tottenham Hotspur to extra time before losing 3-0.

Hollis played in the English Football League with Notts County and Forest Green Rovers and Tamworth said he will bring "incredible experience and knowledge to our next generation".

Tamworth have signed centre-back Joe Rye on a permanent deal from League Two side Barnet after a successful loan spell last season.

Rye, 22, played 22 National League games for the Lambs in 2025-26.

He joined Barnet from Worthing in 2024 but only made four senior appearances for the Bees, spending time on loan at Chelmsford City and Boreham Wood as well as Tamworth.

Tamworth have re-signed striker Nathan Tshikuna after he failed to agree terms on a new deal at National League rivals Wealdstone.

The 27-year-old scored nine goals in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Stones last season.

He previously spent two seasons with Tamworth, helping them win promotion from National League North and reach the third round of the FA Cup in January 2025, where they were beaten by Premier League side Tottenham.
