Bangladesh begin the second day on 330-8 and any hopes of England wrapping up the tail end are quickly dashed. Tim Bresnan is left frustrated in the heat as Shafiul Islam hits a half-century off 47 balls
The hosts rack up 419 - their third highest-ever total and only the seventh time in a decade of Test cricket that the Tigers surpass 400. Graeme Swann is again the pick of the bowlers finishing with 4-114 off 36.1 overs
England take to the crease and it is hard work for makeshift opener Jonathan Trott, who takes a whopping 33 deliveries to open up his account
It is an unusual glow of gold and green for England's Barmy Army as they wear the colours of rivals Australia in aid of Sport Relief - the Shirt of Hurt cannot be easy for the fanatical fans but it is all for a good cause
Skipper Alastair Cook looks in good nick and eases to 21 after lunch before slog-sweeping Abdur Razzak into the hands of Imrul Kayes. It is England's first wicket down with the score on 29
Kevin Pietersen comes to the stage and despite a shaky start the 29-year-old, who later complained of feeling "dizzy" at the crease, slowly begins to open his blade and looks in hot form
It is all over for Pietersen on 45 after he becomes the fourth youngest England player to score 5,000 runs behind David Gower, Michael Atherton and Marcus Trescothick. He spoons a catch off Shakib to Imrul off the leading edge
Bangladesh are looking sprightly as Imrul Kayes (right) appeals unsuccessfully for the wicket of Trott. The hosts need to win this Test to avoid defeat in this two-match series
England are wobbling, needing 220 to avoid the follow-on, and their cause takes another tumble with the demise of Paul Collingwood for a three-ball duck after being bowled lbw to Rubel Hossain
Bangladesh are delighted with their third wicket but it is their last victim of the day. Trott and Ian Bell scratch around as England finish the day on 178-3 with the second Test finely balanced
