Credit Crunch

My son and I have been living with my parents and my brother since we moved out of our own house, away from my partner.

The closeness is getting to be quite claustrophobic and I am resenting the position I've been forced in to.

Because I have my name on the deeds to the other house the council won't listen to me, or point me in the right direction, let alone help me.

Because my ex-partner won't move I have to fight him which could take forever and when I eventually get my share of the equity it will only be enough for a deposit.

For the mortgage on the remaining 90% of a tiny, run down two bedroomed flat in this area I would need to be earning over £45,000 a year.

How many single people, looking for their first home, let alone a little family like us get a salary like that?

I can't afford rent around here which is actually more expensive that mortgage payments.

Thank goodness for housing associations, I wish there were more of them and the ones that do exist could afford to expand.

The government need to look in to housing associations to help solve their affordable housing problems because any new build at the moment would STILL be out of my reach.
