Spring officially starts on the day of the vernal equinox, which falls on the 20 March this year.

From crocuses and daffodils to cuckoos and hares, the first signs of the changing season usually come well before then, and the 'green shoots' of spring have been appearing earlier and earlier in recent years.

So will 2009 provide yet more evidence that the seasons are shifting, or will the cold winter we've experienced this year delay the onset of spring?

The Today programme wants to know if you've begun to notice the signs of spring in the gardens, parks and streets where you live.
