Archbishop Desmond Tutu has spoken of his sadness at being forced "back to the barricades" to defend South Africa's future.

He has been condemned by South Africa's ruling ANC party for his criticisms of the "self-aggrandizement" of party officials.

"Unfortunately, I have been made in this particular way - that when there is a wrong, I try to point at that wrong," he told John Humphrys.
