The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, has said that international cooperation is important to reform the world's banking system. Speaking on today's programme, he added that banks' mobility means that reform "isn't something that you can just sort out in one particular country". Agreeing that bank bonuses were 'rather out of kilter', Mr Darling said that he believed that the UK economy would come out of recession "at the turn of the year".
