As the postal workers' union prepares to announce the results of a ballot for national strike action, the Royal Mail's operations director has admitted that the company has "got to do better" in its relations with its workforce.
Paul Tolhurst told the programme that a "damaging" national postal strike would hurt customers. He added that the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) had an "opportunity to call a halt" to strike action as the company had completed its structural changes for the year.
Earlier today, the CWU's general secretary, Billy Hayes, said he was confident that his members would vote for strike action.
