Repairs of defective accelerator pedals on recalled Toyota cars could take a week, the car maker has said. More than 180,000 cars in the UK are affected and more than two million cars have been recalled worldwide after several fatalities in the US were attributed to the fault.
Peter De Lorenzo, publisher of autoextremist.com and author of The United States of Toyota, and Scott Brownlee, a spokesman for Toyota, consider the damage to the firm's reputation.
