Stop and search tactics 'ineffective'

Police forces in England and Wales are being warned today they may be breaking the race relations act by using stop and search tactics disproportionately against black and Asian people.

A five-year review by Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) says the problem is getting worse, not better.

EHRC commissioner Simon Woolley tells us that it is not enough for the police simply to launch new initiatives if those initiatives do not produce results.
