Chancellor Alistair Darling must decide whether to put "his country before his party" when he writes the coming Budget, his opposite number has said.
Shadow chancellor George Osborne told the Today programme that Gordon Brown was being "dishonest" about the need for urgent spending cuts and Mr Darling should put that right.
