A letter signed by 23 leading businessmen in today's Daily Telegraph criticises the government's proposal to increase National Insurance which will place an additional tax on jobs.
Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Liam Byrne, told the Today programme that the Tories' proposals to achieve efficiency plans are "not plausible".
