The policy of being able to re-take A-levels has been banned under new rules at the prestigious UCL Medical School and Bath University Architectural department. The departments have stated that any grades obtained in a resit exam will be ignored, saying that the policy will help to identify students who are able to deal with the pressures of exams. Anastasia de Waal of the think tank Civitas thinks they're right; Rev Bryan Vernon of Newcastle University thinks they're not.
