David Cameron has said on a visit to Afghanistan that Britain will not send any more troops into the country.

Former head of the army, General Sir Richard Dannatt outlined that David Cameron's approach is "encouraging".

Afghanistan "is important in the national interest and we're going to succeed", he told Today presenter Sarah Montague, "but we're not going to be there for a moment longer than we have to be there".
