Britain's attitude to torture is being questioned as a High Court case on behalf of six former Guantanamo Bay inmates continues to disclose new information.

As Diplomatic correspondent James Robbins reported on the programme, the case has led to the release of an unprecedented level of documentation, but it is still uncertain as to whether government agencies could be accused of complicity in torture.

"What we can't have, is these allegations continuing to fester," former attorney general Lord Goldsmith told John Humphrys.

"It is very important that these allegations are properly investigated."
