The controversy over raising tuition fees in England to £9,000 per year is due to reach its climax, with a vote by MPs and plans for student protests.

"I think the coalition will get its way today," political editor Nick Robinson explained in his analysis of the situation.

"But the interesting thing about rebellions is that they are defining for politicians. Are they loyalists or are they rebels?
