Business secretary Vince Cable has said he has "complete confidence" that Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt will deal with the proposed BSkyB deal "according to due process".
"I'm interested in it, as we all are, but I'm not responsible for it," he told Today presenter John Humphrys.
The Telegraph secret recording that led to his being taken off the deal was now "water under the bridge", he said, although was critical of the newspaper's tactics.
"It clearly effects the integrity of MPs conducting confidential surgeries," he said.
On the soon to be announced GDP figures, he said that because of the climate over winter it was likely to be "a pretty bad quarter" but said there should be evidence of "quite strong growth beginning to happen in manufacturing and exports".

He said that departing CBI head Sir Richard Lambert was wrong in his criticisms of the government's economic strategy, saying he "probably isn't aware" that the government is "getting on in practical ways in supporting business and growth".
