US General Jack Keane, the highly decorated former US senior soldier came up with the plan for the Iraq troop surge, has said that it was "appropriate" for Osama Bin Laden to have been killed by US forces.

"I'm glad we're bringing a body back [to the US] as to opposed to him walking back," he said.
