At least 69 people are dead following a bomb attack on a Pakistani paramilitary police academy, in an attempt by the Taliban to avenge Osama Bin Laden's death.

Meanwhile army chiefs have taken questions from parliament about the killing of Bin Laden.

Former Pakistani army general Talat Masood told Sarah Montague that the Pakistani public "are extremely hurt and at a loss to explain" how US Navy Seals were allowed to enter the country to kill Osama Bin Laden.

The Pakistani authorities were in a "nutcracker situation", he said, facing extreme pressure from the military, the population, militants and the US.
