Post-revolution Egypt has set about changing its relations to the world and itself, with a shifting focus on Israel and Palestine, and ongoing debate over the timing of presidential elections.

Egyptian foreign ministry spokeswoman Menha Bakhoum told James Naughtie that the tide of reform would continue in the region.

"My assumption is that the people in that part of the world had suffered from dictatorship and corruption," she said. "The people cannot stand dictatorship and corruption any more."
