Nato defence ministers are meeting in Brussels to decide what more can be done to remove Colonel Gaddafi from power in Libya.
In an interview with David Loyn, the rebel head of intelligence said Nato fighter planes were now responding within 45 minutes to their reports of Gaddafi artillery in on the battlefield.
He said he would like to let the British public know that the forces that "are fighting with us" are "held in the greatest regard".
"We will be good to the people who helped us in this fight against Gaddafi troops," he said.
Professor Julian Lindley-French of the Netherlands Defence Academy, also an adviser to Nato, said there was a "genuine sense of momentum" propelling the rebel campaign.
