Ireland's government is setting up an inquiry into the reported abuse of young women who worked in a network of ten laundry workhouses between the 1920s and the mid-1990s.

Professor James M Smith has written a book about the Laundries and was on the Justice for Magdalene's advisory committee, which has campaigned for an investigation.

And Ellen Murphy, a survivor of the Magdalene Laundries, gives her story.
