More details are beginning to emerge about the most shocking massacre which has come to light so far during the Libyan conflict: the murder of around 150 men in a military base in south east Tripoli exactly a week ago.

Today programme reporter Andrew Hosken has been told that the men, mainly officers who refused to obey the regime's orders to defend the capital against the rebels, were killed on the direct orders of Colonel Gaddafi's son, Khamis, who was present at the time, according to an eye witness.

And Peter Bouchard of the organisation Human Rights Watch, outlines what he has found out about the killings.
