The politicians may have had their say in Greece as a new government is being formed, but the people have not and their anger is real as the price for the bail-out deal is yet more austerity measures.

John Humphrys, reporting from Athens for the Today programme, spoke to one family about their fading hopes for their country.

Over three generations, the family had worked their way from poverty to a middle class lifestyle. Now with a home in negative equity and wages falling, they are on the verge of leaving the country.

"Everyone in Greece has the idea in their mind to leave this place… you don't know what will happen tomorrow," one family member told him.

"This country does not belong to the Greek people. It belongs to the system… People are sold, at a very low price."
