Family wealth could 'cushion' Italy's problems

Will current and future austerity measures in Italy spell the end of "la dolce vita"?

Tobias Jones, author of the Dark Heart of Italy, and James Walston, professor of politics at the American University of Rome, debate what lies ahead for the debt-ridden country.

Prof Walston believes young people will be the most affected by Italy's debt problems, with many of them already leaving the country. However, he points out that strong traditional family bonds and accumulated wealth within the family are helping to "cushion" the impact of the looming debt crisis.
